You are entitled and encouraged to complain if you believe that you have been unlawfully restricted in organising or participating in a public initiative.
If the Central Electoral Commission has refused to register your initiative, you may appeal this decision at the court in accordance with the Law on Administrative Procedure. Your complaint should be sent in to the Supreme Administrative Court.
If you believe that the signatures that you have collected have not been validated or the online platform used for collecting the signatures has not been approved in violation of the law, you may appeal the decision of the Central Electoral Commission. This also applies to the European Citizens’ Initiatives.
Complaints to international human rights bodies
If you believe that the violation of your rights has not been remedied by Lithuanian institutions or courts, you can submit a complaint to international or European institutions, such as the European Court of Human Rights or the UN Human Rights Committee.
