If you are detained by the police, you can be held in the place of detention for up to 48 hours. Read about the conditions in the place of detention at the police station.

When detained by border guards, you should be placed in special detention premises or at police custody. You must be held separately from people who have been detained for criminal proceedings.

You have the right to humane living conditions and medical care in the place you are held, as well as the right to communicate with the outside world.
